Art, boxing and astronomy meet at Six Senses Zil Pasyon
With guaranteed sunshine and crystal-clear turquoise water, spring is one of the best seasons to visit the Seychelles. For the lucky ones who will be staying at the recently opened Six Senses Zil Pasyon, the experience will be even more special as three of the most renowned Six Senses experts will also be visiting during this period.
The line-up starts with Paul Frank Wagner, a world-renowned conceptual artist who was raised in New York City and is now based out of Sardinia, Italy. Strongly influenced by the 1960s minimalism movement, Paul primarily uses rope and natural materials as his medium. In 2005, Paul was one of the 30 artists featured in “30 Ways to Make a Painting”, together with high profile artists such as Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Nam June Paik, Keith Sonnier, Joseph Kosuth and Allan McCollum. In 2009 his solo show was featured at Scope Miami and in 2014 his “Exhale” installation featuring forest animals won first prize on ArtSlant.
Paul travels the world creating rope painting installations and working with children as a Hoopla Education Specialist because he firmly believes that all children are artists. While on Félicité Island during Easter, 12 to 17 April, Paul will be running a five-day educational and land-art programme for both adults and children. The name of the programme is Gumballs, a term that describes his colourful works with circles and the endless possibilities they entail. In these contemporary art workshops, adults and children discover the amazing world of circles found in nature, the road and many other curious places, exploring their creativity with circular shapes to create their own unique works of art.
With a totally different approach, but with the same objective of reconnecting with yourself, Six Senses’ Félicité Island will be home for two weeks for Abdoulaye Fadiga. Abdoulaye specialises in mental and physical coaching, which includes boxing, general physical preparedness and biomechanics together with nutrition and health. He has twice held the prestigious title of World Champion of Muay Thai together with the French Champion title for nine times. Abdoulaye is the founder and CEO of the company Champion Spirit, as well as one of the most respected European sports academies, 50 Foch by Abdoulaye Fadiga, which is based in Paris.
With more than 10 years of experience Abdoulaye Fadiga developed a bespoke and extremely efficient work out programme named Champion Spirit Training. Benefits of this method have been appreciated and used by world-class athletes, top executives, busy mothers and even a few supermodels. During his stay, Abdoulaye will offer coaching sessions which include general physical and mental preparation, interval training, circuit training, boxing lessons and many other techniques that would enable clients to reach their desired level of fitness and learn a healthy way of life.
The third specialist to visit is Astronomer Dr Parag Mahajani. The independent consultant and trainer in the fields of science and technology and Fellow of Royal Astronomical Society, London (FRAS) will be at Six Senses Zil Pasyon from 10 to 22 May 2017. Dr Mahajani is an expert in the field of astronomy with 25 years of experience. He frequently visits Six Senses resorts to delight guests with his slide shows, talks and sky observation programmes. During his career he has received prestigious awards such as State Level Best Literature Award Winner (C. D.
