Silversea Expeditions this week shared new images of Silver Explorer, following a refurbishment earlier this year. The remodelled Silver Explorer accommodates 144 guests in all-inclusive intimate luxury, sailing to the world’s most remote destinations: from the Arctic, Antarctica and Africa to the Americas, French Polynesia and the Russian Far East.

As part of Silversea’s $170 million fleet-wide refurbishment programme, a significant investment has been made to ensure that guests enjoy a renewed sense of space and comfort when sailing aboard Silver Explorer. The new look offers a revitalised atmosphere throughout, achieved through updated colours schemes, new upholstery, luxurious furniture and fixtures.

Silver Explorer’s public areas have undergone a complete transformation, with the Observation Lounge, Panorama Lounge and Connoisseur’s Corner featuring new furniture, and the restaurant’s buffet counters, ceiling and walls all refashioned with new upholstery.

The theatre’s bar has been redesigned with refreshed banquette seats, while The Grill has received a new awning. A new boutique has replaced the library, and the spa and fitness centre have both doubled in size, replacing the original boutique.

The ship’s all-suite accommodation has been restyled, with the majority of bathrooms on board showcasing new flooring, granite appointments and rainforest showers (replacing tub-and-shower combinations). Suites with verandahs have received new verandah furniture, while the vessel’s eight Expedition Suites have been converted into 16 Vista and View Suites, with most featuring a connecting door for the convenience of families and friends travelling together.

In 2018, Silver Explorer will debut a unique collection of voyages through the Americas, tracing a path north from Ushuaia, the city at the end of the world, all the way up the Pacific coastline to the multicultural vibrant hub of Vancouver.

Amber Wilson, managing director, Asia Pacific, Silversea Cruises said: “We are delighted to see Silver Explorer welcome guests on board following her extensive refurbishment this year. The refreshed look and feel provides the perfect surroundings for guests to discover our exciting range of destinations including voyages to the Antarctic and a new unique collection of voyages through the Americas launching in 2018.

“At Silversea Expeditions we are committed to providing the highest levels of comfort and service, whilst visiting incredible destinations as part of our unique itineraries. The redesign of Silver Explorer forms just part of our multi-million-dollar investment plan across our entire fleet.”

On board, guests can also experience sumptuous cuisine, the personalised service of a butler, and a generous selection of shipboard amenities, including complimentary beverages, wines and spirits served throughout the ship, stocked in-suite beverage cabinet, and at least one free hour of Wi-Fi per guest, per day.

In true Silversea Expeditions style, guests will be enriched by an onboard programme of destination lectures, photo presentations and daily recaps. Exploratory Zodiac® excursions and interactive walks ashore, led by experts in their field – marine biologists, ornithologists, geologists, botanists, historians, and anthropologists –are complimentary.
