Aman raises a glass to New York, Shanghai and 30 years at Sydney’s Chin Chin

One of Sydney’s hottest new restaurants, Chin Chin, played host to a reception for Aman Resorts on Wednesday 8 November. The Aman team – Anna Nash, Head of Global PR; Christina Deeny, Head of Global Sales; Ian White, GM Amanusa & Regional Director Indonesia; Sven Van den Broeck, GM Amanzoe; and Yasuo Mizobuchi, Director of Sales Japan – were in town to share its latest news with Australian media.

Headlining the announcements was Aman’s second “island destination” and urban hotel, Aman New York, slated to open in 2020 in Manhattan’s Crown Building on 57th Street and Fifth Avenue. Read more about the new hotel.

Aman is also anticipating the January arrival of Amanyangyun on the outskirts of Shanghai, its fourth destination in China, comprising 26 restored antique villas, and more exciting developments ahead of its 30th anniversary next year.

Guests were greeted with the Chin Chin Pink Flamingo Signature Cocktail, a vodka-based confection with yuzu, grapefruit and lemongrass. Two long tables were laden with platters of Pan-Asian delights for sharing. Entrees included kingfish sashimi, corn and coriander fritters, betel leaf and spanner crab, and delectable Chin Chin pork ‘roll ups’, while mains of butter chicken curry, squid and green mango salad, twice-cooked beef short rib, Balinese roast duck, stir-fried green beans and mushroom rendang left guests planning their return to the restaurant.
