The Star Introduces Complete Transformation at AIME 2013

The Star Event Centre

The Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, 25 to 27 February, provided the perfect opportunity for The Star to introduce the completed transformation of the harbourside property to industry professionals from around the globe. The Star’s management team held a press conference for a number of national and international media outlets outlining the functionality and features of the recently completed $100 million Event Centre as the final component of The Star’s $870 million redevelopment. With over 60 industry meetings across the two days and the increasing flow of enquiries since, The Star’s first foray as a complete event and entertainment destination was an assured success.

Following on from the press conference, the management team spent time connecting with leading industry personnel across events and tourism to discuss the opportunities now available at The Star and how The Star intends to be involved in broader industry programs.

Jakki Temple, Executive Director of Sales and Events felt buoyed by the renewed sense of energy amongst the industry present at AIME 2013, “This year there seemed to be a definite buzz amongst the room. There was a reinvigorated sense of purpose amongst the exhibitors and buyers alike and the fear that was present in previous years was all but gone and replaced with a palpable enthusiasm” Ms Temple said.

“AIME 2013 was the perfect opportunity to introduce The Star as a complete venue destination for a number of reasons. The Event Centre fittingly capped off the conclusion to our redevelopment and the energy and enthusiasm amongst the room provided our team with a high level of interest and enquiries throughout the show.” Ms Temple added.
