The stunning St. Regis Mauritius Resort – the brand’s first resort in Africa – has opened in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Le Morne on the south western tip of the island.
Bordered by a natural turquoise lagoon and pristine white-sanded beaches, the property is modelled on a Victorian sugar baron’s colonial manor house and private estate with vast terraces, sumptuous rooms and colonnades and beautiful grounds complete with tennis courts, beachside pool, library, conservatory and drawing room.
In all, the resort features 172 elegant guest rooms and suites – from 700 to 2300sqft – and all with expansive terraces and panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.
It is also home to the luxury Iridium Spa which incorporates a full service salon, relaxation lounge, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, a dedicated men’s grooming salon, 24 hour fitness club and 12 treatment rooms. Other facilities include a 24-seat cinema, signature Simply India restaurant designed by Michelin celebrity chef Atul Kochhar and the services of the renowned St. Regis Butler service – a hallmark of the St. Regis brand.
