Australia’s Top Chefs Join Maggie Beer for Prestigious Fine Dining Event

Australian culinary darling Maggie Beer will return to Townsville this winter with a star-studded line up of the country’s finest chefs to host the Chefs in the North dinner, the sumptuous prelude to the prestigious Australian Festival of Chamber Music. Chefs from across Australia will attend the event collaborating with Townsville’s best restaurants to create a superb five-course degustation menu presented on the lawns of Jupiters overlooking Magnetic Island. This black-tie event is to be held at the Jupiters Townsville Hotel and Casino on 25 July 2013, with prices starting from AU$2850 for tables of 10 or individual tickets from AU$295pp. Tickets are now available, call 1800 449 977 to book.

Executive chef for the Chefs in the North evening, David Pugh, will be joined by Daniel Wilson Head Chef of Huxtable Restaurant, Brendon Barker XO Group Executive Chef, Adam Woodfield Executive Chef of Coco Chu, and Restaurant Two Pastry Chef Tom Newman. To complement their interstate counterparts, a diverse selection of local Townsville chefs will feature on the night, including Jam Corner Sous-Chef Daniel Peters, A Touch of Salt Head Chef Matt Ostrenski and Rydges Townsville Executive Chef Kenneth Burton.

The chefs will join the list of impressive celebrity chefs from previous years, which includes authors and television personalities Pete Evans and Ben O’Donoghue, as well as one of Australia’s most experienced and respected chefs, Michael Moore, award-winning chef and radio cooking show regular, Paul McGivern and New Zealand Food Truck television chef, Michael Van De Elzen.
