Celebrate all things Bollywood at the Australian National Maritime Museum with an amazing Indian inspired school holiday program this July inspired by the new East of India exhibition. Enjoy spectacular dance performances, learn Bollywood style dance moves and even star in your very own music video. Plus there’s Indian block printing, henna tattoo designs and the fascinating story behind the Indian trade in spices and saris.
Of course there’s all the museum’s latest exhibitions; Rescue, Elysium Antarctic Visual Epic, as well as Ansel Adams’ stunning black and white photography. And don’t miss our youth photography workshop and a special family pirate cruise aboard the PS Black Swan for all budding buccaneers.
General entry to the museum’s galleries and exhibitions is $7 per adult, $3.50 per child/concession or $17.50 for a family. The museum’s Big Ticket, which includes access to the Navy destroyer HMAS Vampire, submarine HMAS Onslow and the Endeavour replica is $25 per adult, $15 per child or $65 for a family.
The museum also offers a range of special holiday workshops running on selected dates including City to the Sea Photography Workshops, Bollywood Music Video Mix Up, Pirate Family Cruise and The Marketplace Performance Program.
There are also a range of daily family activities including Kids on Deck: Teacups, Trunks and Traders, Cabinet of Curiosities: Shipwreck Secrets as well as free family movie screenings daily at 2pm.
