The Peninsula New York has introduced two programmes especially for younger visitors. They’re run through Peninsula Academy which aims to give guests an introduction to the culture, lifestyle, cuisine and history of New York City.

Kids will love the FDNY Tour where they explore a fire house and meet real NYC fire fighters. Participants will enjoy an insider’s tour of the command centre and its fire trucks and kids will take home their own FDNY fire helmet. Maximum group size is 3, with children being at least 4 years. The experience lasts 1.5 hours, costs $150 US and proceeds are donated to FDNY.

Budding masterchefs can also try Kids in the Kitchen, where the hotel’s culinary team teaches them to bake cookies, decorate cupcakes or create healthy smoothies. Prices range from $275 for one child, to $650 for four. Additional children cost $125 each. Each class lasts two hours and should be booked two weeks in advance.

Customers should also keep in mind the various tours Peninsula offers targeted towards broader groups. Other programmes include a close up Behind the Curtain tour of Broadway, bridal dress tours for those looking for the perfect gown, luxurious Brooklyn Bridge walking tours and the Harlem Gospel Brunch which takes guests on a historic tour and church service that combines edible delights and soulful singing.
