A luxurious Seabourn voyage wouldn’t be the same without the inspiring host of luminaries aboard to share their opinions and expertise. Seabourn Conversations allow guests to share the journey with brilliant minds, from historians to scientists, and the line-up for Seabourn Sojourn’s 2014 world cruise is among the most inspiring yet. Guest speakers including Broadway star Patti LuPone, former CIA operative Tony Mendez (more recently of ‘Argo’ fame) and American yachtsman Dennis Conner will join passengers on the 116-day cruise from Los Angeles on 4 January 2014 to the canals of Venice on 1 May 2014. The cruise will visit 53 ports across 20 countries, including Australia and the South Pacific. Prices start at AU$45,999 per person for the full world voyage.
For guests who cannot sail the entire voyage, shorter segments are available, including 34 days from Sydney to Hong Kong, with cruise-only rates starting at $13,999 per person, based on double occupancy.
In addition to the ‘Celebrity Conversations’ with LuPone, Mendez and Conner, Seabourn Sojourn’s world cruise will feature ‘Arts Conversations’ with David Smith, photographer and travel writer; ‘Culinary Conversations’ with Andrew Fairlie, Scotland’s only two-Michelin starred chef; ‘Cultural and Destination Conversations’ with Ronald Sampson, CBE, a former commander of the British Empire for Diplomatic Services, and Dr. Thomas Lippman, journalist and author specialising in Middle East affairs; and ‘Current Affairs and History Conversations’ with Ralf Vargas and Daniel Silke, foreign policy experts.
“Our guest speakers are as intriguing and worldly as the destinations we will visit during the world cruise,” Seabourn’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales John Delaney said. “Not only will they entertain and delight our guests with their talent, expertise and knowledge, they will also be a part of the daily social scene, enhancing our guests’ experience.”
