The flagship property of Angsana Hotels & Resorts, Angsana Laguna Phuket, is welcoming a new and lovable member to its team, baby elephant Namchok. Two-and-a-half-year-old Namchok is the successor of beloved Chokdee, who is retiring from his role as resident elephant at the resort. Namchok will visit the resort twice a day, where he will enjoy a mid-morning snack at Marketplace restaurant at 8:30am, and will partake in a leisurely walk past the crystal waters of the Andaman Sea when he makes a visit to the beach at 3pm. He loves children and there is no doubt that the young guests at Angsana Laguna Phuket love him back.
Namchok will take residence in the spacious elephant pavilion within the Laguna Phuket integrated resort, where he is free to roam, play, and snack on two favourite dishes: tasty bananas and fresh pineapple leaves. This comfortable camp has been inspected and approved by Dr. Richard Lair, chief adviser to the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre in Lampang, and is part of Laguna’s Elephant Education program, which promotes understanding of elephants’ well-being.
