This year, families are welcome for the first time to Lizard Island, allowing children six years and older to share in this extraordinary Great Barrier Reef island. Previously only catering for children aged 10 and over, the island paradise has designed some exciting new programmes catering specifically for the young ones. On top of all the usual activities, the island is offering the Junior Rangers Program to get the kids involved in conservation and understanding the reef ecosystem. The island’s offerings coincide with the two key school holiday periods – 28 June to 13 July 2014 and 20 September to 5 October 2014.
Lizard Island is the northernmost resort on the Great Barrier Reef offering 40 luxurious suites, a five-star restaurant and spa, plus some of the best snorkelling and diving sites in the world.
Lizard Island is owned and operated by Delaware North Australia Parks & Resorts, owners of Australian resorts including Wilson Island, El Questro Wilderness Park, Heron Island and Kings Canyon Resort.
