National Geographic Orion explores new itineraries

Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic announced this week that the National Geographic Orion is departing Australian waters to explore the seas and reefs of the South Pacific. To celebrate this announcement Lindblad is offering travellers $1000 air credit on two of its itineraries, ‘Exploring the Coral Sea: Papua New Guinea to Fiji’ and ‘Reefs, Lagoons and Volcanic Isles: Fiji to Tahiti’. Enhancements have also been made to the ship to focus on undersea exploration, with guests able to enjoy kayaks, state-of-the-art remote operated vehicles, snorkelling equipment and Zodiacs, as well as a scuba program and a glass-bottomed boat.

Exploring the Coral Coast: Papua New Guinea to Fiji

The 14-day voyage departs 5 November 2014 from Cairns and travels to Papua New Guinea before heading for Lautoka, Fiji via the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Rates for this expedition begin at $12,250. Bookings made before 30 June 2014 receive $1000 air credit.

Reefs, Lagoons and Volcanic Isles: Fiji to Tahiti

Departing on 18 November 2014, this 18-day journey takes travellers from Lautoka, Fiji to Papeee, Tahiti and provides opportunities to dive or snorkel underwater canyons and tunnels, meet island communities and explore the reefs of Kiribati. Starting at $18,420, guests receive $1000 air credit on bookings made before 30 June 2014.

Rates are per person, in Australian dollars and based on a double occupancy in a Category One cabin.
