In-flight commercial aviation as we know it has been redefined with Eithad Airways’ unveiling of chic new premium cabins at the Arabian Travel Market, which will be installed on the airline’s fleet of Airbus A380 and Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft. Most remarkable of the new offerings is the new The Residence by Etihad concept: a three-room private cabin in the forward upper deck of an A380 aircraft, staffed by a personal butler trained by London’s Savoy Butler Academy, complete with living room, double bedroom and ensuite. The A380 will also feature innovative First Apartments which are fully private suites with reclining lounge seat, full-length bed, mini bar, vanity unit and wardrobe.
The first advanced A380 service will commence in December, flying Abu Dhabi to London, with five such aircraft anticipated to be in operation by the end of 2015.
The First Suite on Etihad’s B787 vessels provides complete privacy, mini bar and centre seats which can be joined to create a double bed.
The Business Studio offerings will also be extra spacious, arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration and including a wide seat and separate ottoman that combine to form a fully flat bed.
