This week Qantas, alongside Cathay Pacific and British Airways, unveiled the new LA Business Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport. Reflecting Californian culture, the lounge accommodates 400 customers and offers a swathe of features including a communal fireplace, a central glass atrium, and a new dining area and cocktail bar with barista service. The area also offers enhanced buffet selections, faster Wi-Fi, new workstations and nine shower suites with Aurora Spa amenities. All phases of the lounge are expected to be complete in early 2015, after which the lounge will accommodate 600 customers, with a dedicated ‘Family Zone’ and dining area, as well as seven additional shower suites. Qantas have also announced a refurbishment of the Qantas First Lounge, to be completed in line with this new business class space.

The Los Angeles Business Lounge is located on Level 5 of the recently renovated Los Angeles International Terminal.

Qantas Chef Neil Perry has designed new menus based on signature Qantas Lounge favourites, with influences from multicultural Los Angeles which include tastes of Italy, Mexico, China, Korea and US West Coast street food.

Qantas has partnered with Sofitel to offer a service experience consistent with the standard across its Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore lounges. The service includes a hosted experience for customers travelling in First Class, Platinum Frequent Flyers and oneworld Emerald members, with exclusive services including shirt pressing, shoe shining and priority access to showers.
