Exclusive five-star Phuket hideaway Paresa is offering a two-night package from 24 September to 2 October this year to embrace the spirit of one of the Asia’s most exciting events: the annual Vegetarian Festival where local residents observe a strict 10-day vegetarian or vegan diet for spiritual cleansing. It is particularly famed for sacred rituals, including walking barefoot over hot coals and bathing in hot oil.
Paresa’s package invites couples to explore all these tastes, smells and traditional rituals, and is priced from THB30,000 (approximately US$933) for two nights. Guests stay in the deluxe Aqua Pool Suite with private swimming pool and breakfast included.
The package includes return luxury airport transfers, Wi-Fi, a guided tour of the festival in Phuket’s ‘Old Town’, a vegetarian street-food cooking class, and a visit to a colourful market accompanied by Paresa’s chef to select ingredients.
Paresa’s vegetarian street food cooking classes embrace two entire menus that guests can learn to cook and re-create at home. Dishes range from Poh Pia Pak Tord, deep-fried vegetarian spring rolls, to the traditional Phad Thai Pack, stir-fried noodles & bean sprouts in a tamarind dressing, and Khao Nhiao Mamuang, a sweet mango sticky rice.
