The Lake Garden, Nay Pyi Taw has officially opened to become not only the first Accor hotel in Myanmar, but also one of the finest accommodation offering in the area.
It features 165 rooms and suites – two Presidential Suites, eight Executive Suites, 30 Deluxe Suites, 64 Deluxe Rooms and 61 Superior Rooms. All are spacious and artfully crafted with richly-textured materials and furnishings that provide a journey into Myanmar’s history and culture. The hotel is surrounded by tropical landscaped gardens and a tranquil lake, only a five-minute drive away from Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC) and 20 minutes from the international airport.
To celebrate its opening, the hotel is offering a special introductory rate with rooms available from just US$90 per night, valid until 29 October 2014.
“This opening comes at a time when the capital is seeing an influx of visitors with a strong demand for an upscale accommodation with international standard facilities and superb services. The Lake Garden is the perfect accommodation for sophisticated customers looking for a memorable hotel experience in this capital city,” said Mr Patrick Basset, one of Accor’s Chief Operating Officers.
Guests are greeted at the hotel entrance by three imposing bells, reminiscent of the Great Bell of Mingun which provided the inspiration for the hotel’s logo and theme. The hotel’s interior is full of design ingenuities and magnificent centrepieces, such as a gigantic alms-like bowl in the lobby, Burmese paintings, architectural arched doorways and Burmese arts and visual details throughout.
The Lake Garden also has several gastronomic venues to choose from:
- The Grand Bell: all-day dining with locally inspired cuisine.
- The Oak Room: the hotel’s impressive wine cellar and cigar room.
- Primo: a specialty Italian restaurant serving the finest Mediterranean cuisine.
