Malaysia is packed with attractions, experiences and activities to meet every traveller’s needs, making it truly the ideal holiday destination. From its postcard-perfect white sandy beaches, UNESCO World Heritage sites, national parks, eclectic cities, adventurous activities and rainforests abundant with nature, it is a bubbling melting pot of cultures, ethnicities and religions.
2015 has been designated as Malaysia’s Official Year of Festivals, as such it’s the perfect time for a visit… Here enters the MyFEST campaign. The campaign theme is Endless Celebrations, and offerings will leverage on the momentum established during last year’s highly successful Visit Malaysia Year 2014, which saw tourism numbers to Malaysia rise by almost 10 per cent on the previous year.
This year-long programme will deliver a diverse mix of 50 festivals and events across the country.
Highlights include:
- The colourful World Kite Festival
- The octane-fueled Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix featuring some spectacular motor racing action on one of the world’s most picturesque F1 tracks
- The Malaysia International Shoe Festival (for those hankering after a retail fix)
- The Magic of the Night Festival, with its nightime Lighted Boat Parade showcasing brightly and beautifully decorated boats
Besides festivals and celebrations, visitors will also be able to enjoy the huge range of other activities and permanent attractions on offer right around the country including sensational shopping, award-winning golf courses like the The Els Club Teluk Datai, some of South East Asia’s best theme parks and of course, some amazing food.
