InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa’s Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course has been awarded a prestigious Diamond Award by the International Association of Golf Travel Operators (IAGTO). The award was presented after thorough assessments of affiliated golf courses to find the best possible experience for golf travellers.
IAGTO is an organization that carries out golf tourism audits of over 250 courses and resorts worldwide, assessing each course through the eyes of a first-time golf visitor. As the only award recipient in Fiji, InterContinental Fiji credits this achievement to its hard-working team, quality service and, of course, its spectacular design.
“Renowned golfer Vijay Singh designed the sophisticated layout of the championship golf course to showcase the breathtaking views of Natadola Bay whilst providing an enjoyable challenge to players of all skill levels,” says Golf Operations Manager, Amitesh Chandra. “Combine that with the genuine friendly service we have to offer, luxurious resort accommodation, and you have the perfect recipe for a unique and unforgettable golfing experience.”
“The second PGA Fiji International tournament will be held in October this year and we are looking forward to seeing the competition grow bigger and better,” adds Mr. Chandra. “Last year we saw fierce competition between Nick Price, Brendan Jones and many others – with Steven Jeffress taking home the championship title.”
The award will officially be given out at the IAGTO Excellence Awards for 2015, which are taking place in Jakarta on 28 April at the Asia Golf Tourism Convention.
