Vanuatu bounces back: Agents invited to see for themselves

In the wake of Cyclone Pam, Australian travel agents are being offered significantly discounted rates at properties around Vanuatu along with agent fares from Air Vanuatu as part of a self-famil initiative to drive industry visits, which are integral to the next phase of the destination’s tourism recovery.

Select hotels are offering bonafide agents and their partners two free nights’ accommodation or great discounts on their usual rates. Coupled with Air Vanuatu’s AU$50 agent fare, a trip to Vanuatu for the travel industry is now more affordable than ever.

The full list of hotels self-famil deals can be found at the agent site Travel agents can register and login to find detailed information on these offers on the famil page.

Vanuatu Tourism Office’s (VTO) Australian representative, Anne Morris, said Vanuatu has made great progress in rebuilding and reopening tourism infrastructure and facilities, and now is the time for agents to visit Vanuatu to see it is ready to welcome tourists back.

“It’s really wonderful to see the tourism industry in Vanuatu come together and offer these amazing deals to our travel agents. Agents are instrumental in relaying the message that Vanuatu has not been devastated by Cyclone Pam and it is still operating as a fantastic holiday destination,” Ms Morris said.

Air Vanuatu’s AU$50 agent fare, exclusive of taxes, is available on Sydney and Brisbane flights to Port Vila, with great AU$60 agent rates for flights from Port Vila to Espiritu Santo and Tanna. Air Vanuatu also offers discounted rates for a travel companion so there is no need to travel alone.
