During the 2015 Paris Air Show LAN, member of LATAM Airlines Group, won first place in the categories “Best Airline in South America” and “Best Service in South America” according to the World Airline Awards conducted each year by the British company SKYTRAX, specialist research advisors for the airline industry.
This year, the awards ceremony was held at the legendary Musee de l’Air et de l’Espace during the Paris Air Show. The Museum is a historic landmark for the industry and is one of the oldest in the world, home to more than 150 airplanes including prototypes of the Concorde and Swiss and Russian rockets.
The ceremony is recognised worldwide by the airline industry for its role in distinguishing the best airlines according to the opinion of more than 18 million passengers from 160 different nationalities.
The awards and the SKYTRAX survey – known as the World Airline Survey – are considered the main reference tool for satisfaction levels among global airlines, serving as a single analysis of passenger opinion.
The SKYTRAX awards evaluate customer experience on the ground and inflight. The survey evaluates more than 41 aspects related to product quality and service levels, such as: check-in and boarding process, comfort of seats, cabin product, inflight catering and entertainment, and other service items. This year’s survey evaluated 275 international airlines.
