New luxury resort approved for Lake Macquarie

Keith Johnson’s vision for a luxury waterfront development, gracing the pristine shores of Lake Macquarie NSW first emerged in 1999. Now, 16 years later, Johnson Property Group has been given the approval it needs to turn that dream into a reality.

The Hunter and Central Coast Joint Regional Planning Panel gave the green light to the $8 million first stage of the $388 million Trinity Point Marina after it was recommended for approval by Lake Macquarie City Council. The approval means that the marina’s first 94 berths, along with a building, carpark and landscaping can now be built at the site.

“It’s fantastic. It’s good not only for Johnson Property Group, it’s good for Lake Macquarie and it’s good that everyone can move on,” said Johnson Property Group’s founder Keith Johnson.

While getting to this stage has at times been an uphill battle, Mr Johnson said he never considered giving up on the project. “When you believe in something, and you’re passionate about something, and you believe it’s the best for the site, the best for Lake Macquarie, the best for the community, you never think of giving up.”

Johnson Property Group will now get a construction certificate, with work anticipated to start later this year.

The next exciting phase of Trinity Point will see 250 luxury tourist and residential apartments, a luxury hotel, restaurant, function centre, day spa and infinity pool built at the site.

Once complete, Trinity Point will boast a 188-berth marina, which will be one of the most environmentally friendly facilities of its kind in Australia. It will be complimented by a foreshore boardwalk that has 280-degree views of the lake and will open up the lakefront for all residents, tourists, guests and the community to enjoy.
