Ultra-luxe Silversea Cruises has revealed that artist Alexandre Renoir and two Relais & Châteaux chefs, Erik Arnecke and Fabio Pisani, will host a special enrichment program aboard Silver Spirit‘s November 2 Mediterranean cruise, a seven-day sailing venture from Rome to Barcelona.

During the ‘Farewell Mediterranean’ voyage, contemporary impressionist painter Alexandre Renoir – great grandson of French impressionist painter Pierre-August Renoir – will be on board to give insights into his famous ancestor’s life and demonstrate his own artistic talents.

The voyage includes an overnight stay in Livorno, and stopovers at Monte Carlo, Marseille, Porto Mahon, and Palma de Mallorca. During the visit to Monte Carlo, Renoir will host an optional shore expedition to his estate at Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Also on board will be Erik Arnecke, chef of the Michelin-starred Philipp Soldan restaurant, located at Germany’s Die Sonne Frankenberg Hotel, a Relais & Châteaux member property, and Fabio Pisani, chef of the two Michelin-starred Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant in Milan, Italy. Combining their expertise, these culinary chefs will present a program of cooking demonstrations and gourmet dinners.

A culinary demonstration program with specialized workshops and cooking competitions hosted by culinary trainer David Bilsland, who oversees Silversea’s L’École des Chefs program, will also be a feature.

Additionally, a wine enrichment program will spotlight a collection of Italian vintages selected by Comitato Grandi Cru d’Italia, an association of top Italian winemakers. Gennaro Buono, award-winning sommelier of the two Michelin-starred Il Pagliaccio, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant in Rome, Italy, will lead guests.

Fares start from $3,850 per person, based on double occupancy.
