Amanwella

Amanwella is situated in a coconut grove near the fishing village of Tangalle in southern Sri Lanka. The resort derives its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ and wella, Sinhalese for ‘beach’.

Offering 30 suites, each has its own plunge pool and terrace and are linked by pathways. They are situated along the hillside to the west of public areas that include the Arrival Pavilion, Library, Spa, Restaurant and Lounge Bar, swimming pool, and The Beach Club. Suites are mostly free-standing but families have the option of those connected by a terrace door. All are built facing the sea and are finished with floor-to-ceiling glass panels.

Aman suggests that a stay of 3 days or longer is the ultimate length of time at Amanwella, before or after visiting its second Sri Lankan resort, Amangalla, which is a 2-hour drive away.
