AmaWaterways has announced that it has selected Nexion President Jackie Friedman to serve as Godmother of the new AmaViola. Friedman will join AmaWaterways for a special blessing ceremony, which will take place in Vilshofen, Germany at the conclusion of the ship’s 9 June, 2016 “Melodies of the Danube” sailing.

We are thrilled to welcome her as our newest Godmother and look forward to celebrating with her next year!”
Friedman has served within the travel industry for more than 20 years. In 2004, she joined Nexion as Vice President of Operations. Three years later, she was promoted to President and General Manager, charged with focusing on membership growth, enhancing supplier relations, managing business development strategies and more. Under Friedman’s leadership, Nexion’s membership base has quadrupled, grossing more than $390 million in annual sales in 2014. In addition to her position with Nexion, Friedman serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the Professional Association of Travel Hosts (PATH), along with advisory and President’s boards for CLIA, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and more.
The 158-passenger AmaViola will offer 7- and 14-night cruises along the Danube, Main, Rhine, Dutch and Belgian Waterways. Spacious, luxurious accommodations including AmaWaterways’ unique Twin Balconies, connecting staterooms, and the first-ever cabins to feature a third bed and suites with a sleeper sofa make AmaViola the most advanced designed river cruise vessel currently in operation. Travellers sailing aboard AmaViola will also have access to amenities, including a newly designed salon and massage space, fitness room, refreshing sun deck and heated swimming pool with swim-up bar.
