On Foot Holidays is offering five per cent off 2015 prices for its 2016 seven-night self-guided trek through Tuscany in central Italy, if booked by 30 November, 2015. The inn-to-inn walk includes visits to medieval abbeys, ancient thermal baths and organic farms.
The tour begins at the city of Siena, with its medieval cathedral and historic town centre – a World Heritage Site – and concludes at the hilltop village of Montepulciano. The walk will also feature a focus on local cuisine, with the Pieve a Salti restaurant – where travellers stay on their second night – famous for sourcing its food from the on-site organic farm.
Daily breakfasts, one evening meal, one picnic lunch, luggage transfers and seven nights’ accommodation are included in the package, with occasional options to upgrade or stay additional nights available. Each night, walkers stay in small, family-run B&Bs or hotels where they meet up with their luggage each day, leaving just a day pack to carry on the track. The walk is classified as medium, with 3½ to 6 hours spent hiking each day, including some steep ascents and descents. It is available from April to October.
If booked before November 30, 2015, the walk can be taken in 2016 for £695 (approx $A1478 depending on exchange rates), twin-share, which is a five per cent reduction on 2015’s price, thanks to decreased costs following a weakness in the Euro.
