On 22 October LATTE attended a lunch hosted by Captain’s Choice at Private Dining Room @ Nomad, Surry Hills, where insights on luxury travel trends and key destinations for 2016 were shared by Founder Phil Asker with guests.

“Travellers spend their whole working lives dreaming of the perfect journey. Where, in years gone by joining all the dots between their dream destinations would be difficult, expensive and in some cases impossible; today it has become an affordable reality. Luxury travellers nowadays demand diversity in their itinerary but not at the expense of convenience and comfort.”

Captain’s Choice has recently launched its latest ‘Journeys by Private Jet’ programme that is designed to cater to this growing demand.

According to Phil Asker, the trend among luxury travellers is to see everything on their bucket list in one trip. “We’ve just introduced two Australia by Private Jet journeys for 2016 because guests were telling us they wanted to see all the highlights of home but it was too difficult to link it all together themselves.”

All 90 passengers on board the Captain’s Choice Boeing 767 can enjoy lie-flat seat and personalised service, with itineraries like the Equatorial Explorer (15 September – 6 October 2016) or Icons of Asia and Africa (20 October – 7 November 2016) also available to choose from.

Another trend discussed was the desire for authentic experiences, “Taking a guest to a Michelin starred restaurant is amazing. Arranging for the Chef to come out and meet them is fabulous. But for the luxury adventurer of tomorrow, allowing them to meet the Chef early in the morning, go to the market with him or her to select the produce and then go back to the restaurant to see it being prepared – that’s the extension of the experience.”

The Journeys by Private Jet brochure is available now.
