As the creative minds behind The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar, Munich-based architects and gastronomes Sascha Arnold, Niels Jäger and Steffen Werner have long had a finger firmly on the pulse of the city’s social scene. Their latest venture, a bespoke gin distilled exclusively for the  Design Hotels member hotel, is sure to be greeted with enthusiasm by Munich natives and visitors alike. Produced and bottled in Bavaria, the gin is smooth enough to be enjoyed straight up, or as part of a cocktail, and can be found in the bar or in the minibars of the top quality rooms. The limited edition bottle will also be available to purchase from the hotel, making for the perfect gift for the gin connoisseur.

The Flushing Meadows Gin

The natural and unfiltered dry gin is produced and hand-bottled in a distillery in Bavaria and is served as a welcome drink for hotel guests. A bottle of Flushing Meadows Gin also takes pride of place in the private in-room bars of the top category rooms. Hotel co-founder, Sascha Arnold has previous form when it comes to distilling spirits – his herb liquor “URFELDER NO.26” is created by the same Bavarian distillery and can be purchased from The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar.

Chic interiors and a cozy fireplace make the Flushing Meadows Bar the ideal drinking den for the winter months. On the top floor of the hotel, the bar’s chief mixologist Robin Bruderhofer uses the gin as the base for classic cocktails, alongside contemporary infusions of his own creation. His signature winter cocktail “The Apple” is the perfect tipple for cold nights – based on a classic Ramos Gin Fizz, it contains apple liquor, egg white, lemon and lime juice, cream and cinnamon.

The Flushing Meadows Gin has been created as a limited edition of just 100 bottles. It is available to purchase exclusively at the hotel priced at 50 EUR per bottle.
