Spain’s capital will welcome the W Madrid in 2018, expanding Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide‘s already strong presence.
The hotel will be located on Plaza de Canaleja, in the epicentre of the city’s thriving restaurant and entertainment district, and nearby to some of the country’s most important landmarks. It is said to bring modern design, playful luxury, and the iconic Whatever/Whatever Service to Spain’s culture and fashion capital.
Michael Wale, President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and Middle East elaborates, “The opening of the second W Hotel in Spain demonstrates the huge demand for this innovative lifestyle brand in such an important travel market. When W Madrid opens its doors in 2018, Spain will become the only country in Europe to boast two W Hotels.”
Along with W’s signature amenities and full calendar of W Happenings, W Madrid will redefine the city’s hospitality scene with 141 stylish guestrooms, including 20 suites and one Extreme Wow Suite (akin to a Presidential Suite). Both guests and locals will enjoy a buzzing rooftop bar and WET outdoor pool deck, a W Living Room (the W brand’s spin on the hotel lobby), a signature restaurant and FIT®, the ultimate workout facility. There will also be two studios for meetings and events.
W Madrid’s owner, Merryland Inversiones will be housing the hotel in a 19th century building.
