Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has appointed Gina Prior as Account Director for Starwood Sales Organisation, Brisbane.
In her new role, Gina will focus on driving Starwood’s MICE strategy across Queensland and Western Australia, where she will be responsible for raising awareness of Starwood’s openings and refurbishments, managing and growing Starwood’s portfolio of MICE clients and promoting Starwood’s unique brands and programmes.
“With a strong pipeline of new and refurbished hotels in the Asia Pacific region, it’s an exciting time to be joining the Starwood Sales Organisation. In Australia alone Starwood has eight properties currently under construction, including The Westin Brisbane and W Brisbane, which are slated to open in 2018. The iconic Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas and Australia’s largest hotel by room number Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour are also partway through game-changing renovations, which are scheduled for completion by mid-2016.” Gina said. “I’m looking forward to leveraging these developments to establish and grow new, long-lasting relationships across the Queensland and West Australian markets.”
Gina began her career at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2004 as the Account Director of Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort & Spa Gold Coast, a position she held for ten years. In this role, Gina was responsible for securing and maximising MICE revenue opportunities for the property, whilst also leveraging Starwood sales tools and programmes for maximum conversion from clients, both in Queensland and international markets.
As Account Director of SSO Brisbane, Gina will be reporting into Ashley Hansen, Regional Director for Sales & Marketing and Starwood Sales Organisation in the Pacific.
