APT has announced it will increase touring to Tasmania by 25 per cent in 2016/17 in response to increased demand for the destination amongst Australian guests.
Travel agents can now make bookings from the new APT Tasmania Luxury Escorted Land Journeys 2016/17 brochure.
Luxury accommodation, dining and APT’s exclusive Signature Experiences and Freedom of Choice sightseeing continue to feature heavily throughout the new programme.
Guests can choose from five itineraries ranging from four to 12 days in length. Two combine east and west Tasmania, one showcases the east coast and two take central and western routes.
According to APT’s Executive General Manager, Global Sales and Marketing, Debra Fox, Tasmania has been on a steady upwards growth curve for the past couple of years: “Tasmania is a destination that’s in demand right now. It is a stunning place to explore and the tourism infrastructure is first class. We’ve had a strong sales season and interest just keeps on growing. So to help our industry partners, we’ve responded by increasing our touring accordingly. Agents trust APT to deliver an unforgettable Tasmanian holiday experience and that’s why they book clients to travel with us time and time again.”
APT guests travel through Tasmania in tour groups of no more than 40 people aboard luxury air conditioned coaches, all with reclining seats and on board bathroom.
Accommodation includes some of the island’s finest hotels and lodges, including the award-winning Freycinet Lodge and Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge. APT’s new touring programme also offers an exclusive stay at Strahan Village, where guests are guaranteed harbour view rooms over Macquarie Harbour.
APT’s exclusive Signature Experiences for Tasmania include a visit to the Bridestowe Lavender Estate, a guided tour through the Tarkine wilderness and the chance to dine on the finest Tasmanian fare at a special dinner in Smithton.
The most popular tour is the 12-Day Royal Tasman itinerary which includes Launceston, Freycinet National Park, Port Arthur, Hobart, Gordon River and Cradle Mountain. Priced from $5195 per person, twin share, it includes 21 meals, visits to five national parks, the services of an APT Tour Director, airport transfers on the first and last day of the tour, all accommodation, sightseeing and entry fees.
