Toga Far East Hotels (TFE) will open 10 new hotels in Australia and Germany in the next two years, bringing its global hotel portfolio to nearly 80. TFE Hotels is a leading hotel operator that formed as a partnership between Australia’s Toga Group and Singapore’s Far East Hospitality Holdings in 2013, with its head office in Sydney. It now manages a portfolio of 70 hotels across Australia, NZ and Europe, operating a combined 10,000 hotel apartments and hotel rooms under six key brands.

The group plans two new hotels in Germany in 2017 under its Adina brand – Adina Apartment Hotel Hamburg Heights, its second property in Hamburg, and Adina Apartment Hotel LeipzigThis will add to the two Adina Apartment Hotels due for completion in late 2016 at Frankfurt and Nuremburg, bringing its total European properties to eleven, seven of them in Germany.

TFE Hotels is also expanding in Australia, planning to open Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane, George Street and Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, George Street as well as a Travelodge Sydney Airport, Adina Apartment Hotel Royal Randwick Racecourse and Vibe Hotel North Sydney, Northpoint in 2017. This follows its two Canberra openings – Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport in December 2015 and the heritage-listed Hotel Kurrajong Canberra in 2014.

Adina Apartment Hotel Hamburg Heights will comprise 202 apartments; 149 Studios, 16 Premier Studios, 34 One Bedroom Apartments and 2 Two Bedroom Apartments in the inner city between the famous historic warehouse district ‘Speicherstadt’ and the main shopping district.

Adina Apartment Hotel Leipzig will have 166 rooms; 133 Studios and 35 One Bedroom Apartments, Fitness Area, Swimming Pool, Conference Area and Retail space on the ground floor. The property was built in the 1960s as an office building for the fur trade and will now be stripped and get an entirely new façade.

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany, with a population of 1.75 million, while Leipzig in the former East Germany, has 540,000 inhabitants. Together, Hamburg and Leipzig have shown the strongest growth in demand for overnight stays in Germany over the last five years.
