Soneva has announced that its first floating villa is ready to take to the ocean from its base at the flagship resort, the multi-award-winning Soneva Fushi. The new concept, Soneva in Aqua, combinesiconic barefoot luxury with a sense of freedom and the exclusivity of a private boat charter, and opens a new chapter in experiential luxury travel
“We are very excited about our newest Soneva offering, which has been designed with great attention to detail. The hardware and software that are part of the Soneva in Aqua DNA will make this a unique experience for our guests,” said Sonu Shivdasani, Founder and CEO, Soneva.
An ultra-luxury and highly refined yacht, Soneva in Aqua measures 19.25 metres in length and 6.40 metres in width, with exceptionally spacious interiors. The onboard crew comprises a captain, a chef, a masseuse, a private butler, an astronomer and a diving instructor.
Soneva in Aqua can accommodate four adults and two children to ensure the ultimate sense of exclusivity and privacy. It features a spacious master suite with a king-size bed with his and her wardrobes, shower facilities and a sunken glass-bottom spa, which allows guests to enjoy the spectacular water world below. The second cabin also has a king-size bed, ensuite bathroom and walk-in shower facilities, all designed to offer extensive natural daylight.
Every detail was taken into consideration to ensure that the experience would be exceptional for guests. All equipment, including the engines and generators, are built to the highest specification with regards to fuel efficiency. Though it is supported by engine power, the yacht will rely on its three crisp white sails and nature to provide it with momentum and energy. The design also features natural materials such as rich brown leathers, woods and organic cottons.
“To stay true to our sustainable philosophy, we use a solar panel on the wheelhouse and engine recycled heat to warm the water on board. In addition, Solar PvE panels recharge the batteries, while a food waster and food dryer specially designed and installed reduces the volume of waste onboard by 90%,” Shivdasani added.
With an unending vista of crystal blue waters, breathtaking reefs and magnificent sunsets, guests can truly enjoy the slow life as they dangle their legs over the side, relax in the Jacuzzi on deck, sprawl out on the comfy daybeds, or enjoy wellness treatments by the trained therapist on board. Dedicated hosts cater for every whim, providing an extension of uncompromised level of service and attention to details that is synonymous with the Soneva experience, from serving breakfast in bed or on the deck to creating favourite dishes and preparing Maldivian specialties with fish and shellfish fresh from the ocean paired with the sommelier’s selection of fine wines and spirits.
A ‘chart of locations’ provides guests on board with options to tailor their voyage according to weather conditions, diving or snorkelling requirements, and cultural interests, but the captain can also plot a course based on the desires and expectations of the guests on board. Choices range from a barbecue on a private island, a romantic meal on a sandbank under the stars or night and sunrise dives.
