Leading all-inclusive holiday provider, Club Med is now the first global tourism operator to present a collection of 360 degree videos showcasing its resorts, providing a novel and interactive experience of immersive virtual reality. This 360 degree technology has been deployed at global level on the Club Med YouTube channel and Facebook page, as part of communication operations and will also be available to experience at Club Med Voyages travel agents via a Samsung Gear VR headset.
In partnership with TF1 Production and Digital Immersion, Club Med has developed 360 dergee videos to enrich the customer experience and virtually ‘teleport’ potential guests to some of the most beautiful locations around the world. The videos feature tours of the accommodations, interactive sports activities and a warm greeting from friendly G.O.s.
Club Med is launching the technology focussing on four key Resorts: Kani (Maldives), Finolhu Villas (Maldives), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and Peisey-Vallandry (French Alps).
These 360 degree videos are already available on the Club Med YouTube channel and Facebook page, and can be experienced as Virtual Reality in Club Med Voyages travel agents equipped with the Samsung Gear VR headset.
The videos are also being used to enhance communication operations via a Street Marketing campaign in Canada, tourism trade shows in Australia and Singapore, or directly, with cardboard headsets, which have been sent to several thousand customers who can try out the virtual reality 360 degree films on their smartphones.
The next three Resorts to be featured will be Cancun Yucatan (Mexico), Val Thorens Sensations (France) and Sanya (new seaside resort in China).
Club Med is also planning to “scan” its resorts using Google Street View technology with Finolhu Villas being the first resort in the Maldives to be present in 360 degree on Google.
