‘End of the world’ cruise line, Australis, is offering a night of free accommodation in the Patagonian city of Punta Arenas before or after 14 cruises next summer to Cape Horn and the spectacular glaciers and fjords of southern Chile and Argentina.

The special offer is valid for bookings made by 31 July 2016, on the selected three- or four-night itineraries aboard the 200-passenger expedition ship, Stella Australia, between September 2016 and March 2017.

The cruises – ideal add-ons to a South American holiday – sail between Punta Arenas in Chile and Ushuaia in Argentina – the two southern-most towns in the world.  Routes include the mountain and glacier-lined fjords of Tierra del Fuego, the Magellan Strait and Beagle Channel and zodiac excursions ashore to legend-imbued places like Cape Horn, named 400 years ago this year by Dutch explorers, as well as remote Wulaia Bay and massive Pia Glacier. An average of seven tidewater glaciers can be seen on most Australis sailings while wildlife along the way includes elephant seals, sea lions and colonies of up to 120,000 Magellanic penguins.

Australis is the only operator to offer regular cruises through the wild and pristine region at the southern-most tip of South America, with the family-owned Chilean cruise line also offering more opportunities for travellers to step ashore on fabled Cape Horn than any other line.

Stella Australis offer lounges, gym facilities and cabins with extra-large panoramic windows – almost floor to ceiling – to take in the majestic wilderness bathed in extended summer daylight. All guests enjoy complimentary, guided excursions and nature lectures as well as a free open bar. Cuisine aboard includes local dishes as well as Chilean and Argentine wines. English and Spanish are spoken onboard.

Until 31 July 2016, a free night of accommodation is available in Punta Arenas before or after 14 of Australis’ three- or four-night sailings between the Chilean city and Ushuaia, with departures from 28 September 2016, and 8 March 2017. Sailings include a special Christmas Eve departure and New Year’s Eve sailing. Three-night cruises are available from US$1595 per person, twin-share, or from US$2393 for solo travellers.
