Oetker Collection has announced Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten as restaurant partner at the Palácio Tangará, the latest masterpiece in the collection due to open in São Paulo in the northern spring of 2017.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who has led a stellar career in Michelin-starred kitchens, owns and operates over 30 restaurants worldwide in cities such as New York and Paris, Shanghai and Tokyo. The partnership with Oetker Collection at Palácio Tangará will be his first venture in South America. Jean-Georges will be taking care of all the food and beverage for the hotel including the Restaurant Tangará, the Park Lounge & Terrace, room service and banquet facilities.
The appointment of Jean-Georges follows a successful partnership between Oetker Collection and Jean-Georges at Eden Rock St Barths. Frank Marrenbach, CEO Oetker Collection, declares: “We are indeed very proud that we could win with Jean-Georges one of the world’s best and famous chefs to become our partner for the restaurant and F&B concepts of Palácio Tangará. His level of professionalism combined with his creative genius will for sure allow us to create wonderful culinary experiences for our guests in the restaurant, on the terraces and in the ball room. No doubt this collaboration will contribute significantly to the future success of the hotel and its positioning as an urban oasis in the heart of São Paulo.”
Jean-Georges adds: “After our first successful cooperation at Eden Rock St Barths, I am delighted to work again with the Oetker Collection team in São Paulo. The Brazilian heritage, culture and cheerful lifestyle, the huge variety of local produce combined with the spectacular hotel architecture and design in Burle Marx Park make this project very special. My team and I are excited about the partnership and the great potential that Palácio Tangará offers.”
