Following last year’s MGallery Literary Collection – a collaboration with The Wheeler Centre that saw eight award-winning Australian authors produce a book of short stories inspired by their stay covering each boutique hotel in the collection – this new partnership with Australia’s largest regional writers’ festival further cements MGallery by Sofitel’s ties with Australia’s literary community.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, this year’s acclaimed writers’ festival will be hosted at Elements of Byron – MGallery by Sofitel, the latest edition to the MGallery by Sofitel portfolio and Byron Bay’s first world-class beachfront resort. The festival’s anniversary programme will be headlined by P.J. O’Rourke, American satirist and political commentator, with feature appearances by literary greats such as Australian writers Helen Garner, Anna Funder and Tom Keneally, along with performer Magda Szubanski, who recently transitioned from the screen to the page with her award-winning memoir Reckoning.
Inspired by the hotel’s history and local charm, each MGallery by Sofitel property offers guests the chance to indulge in a signature ‘Memorable Moment’. Curated specially for each hotel MGallery by Sofitel’s Memorable Moments vary from helicopter rides over the Adelaide Hills, to candlelit rooftop dinners overlooking Sydney Harbour with a Classic String Quartet and VIP shopping trips with a stylist in tow.
During the Bryon Writers Festival, MGallery by Sofitel will host a ‘Memorable Moment’ photo booth, giving festival-goers a glimpse into the magical moments that can be experienced when staying with the MGallery by Sofitel collection. The most creative pose snapped at the booth will walk away with a fully paid Signature Memorable Moment and a chance to experience the magic of MGallery by Sofitel in Australia first hand.
