The Swiss-Belhotel International Group will open its first Australian hotel in Brisbane on 1 November 2016. Swiss-Belhotel is a rapidly growing, Hong Kong-based international brand that currently spans 20 countries.

Swiss-Belhotel Brisbane is situated at 218 Vulture St, South Brisbane. The site was selected because of its proximity to River Quay, South Bank, the Gabba and nearby Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Mater Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. The 134-room hotel comprises 108 Superior Rooms, 14 Deluxe Studios (45 square metres) and 12 Executive Studios (54 square metres). Importantly, seven of the Superior Rooms have been tailored for the physically challenged.

Swiss-Belhotel International Chairman and President Gavin Faull said: “We are very excited to be opening our first Swiss-Belhotel branded property in Australia in the booming Brisbane market. It is all about opportunity and we were presented with this exciting opportunity in Brisbane two years ago. We were so impressed that we have taken a long-term lease on the hotel and invested in the property.”

There is a large Corporate Lounge, ideal for early arrivals or late departures, two banquet and meeting rooms, an indoor heated swimming pool, in-house gymnasium and secure onsite parking for 40 cars. There are also physically challenged public toilets, public access and car parking spaces.

When not taking advantage of the many nearby restaurants and cafes, guests can experience the cosy dining ambience of Cafe 63 at Swiss-Belhotel, where every dish is made from authentic locally produced ingredients. Cafe 63 at Swiss-Belhotel is an expanded version of the very popular Cafe 63 in Brisbane, with a large bar that will provide drinks and entertainment during the evening and weekends, a larger menu will include signature items on top of the regular casual dining offering. Cafe 63 at Swiss-Belhotel will also provide room service and cater for the meeting rooms as well as selling takeaway coffee and meals. Finally, there will be a large bar that will provide drinks and entertainment during the evening and weekends.

The brand now employs over 7000 people worldwide with a new Athens office providing a beachhead for European growth. There is no sign of a slowdown with plans to have at least 10 hotels managed by Swiss-Belhotel International in Australia within five years and at least 40 within 10 years.
