Great Smoky Mountains National Park

America’s most visited national park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is less than 20 kilometeres from Sevierville and is free to enter and enjoy. Encompassing a 2072-square-kilometre stretch of deciduous forest, visitors to the park can view early settlements and homesteads and enjoy hiking, fishing, picnics, and more. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is both an International Biosphere Reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The world-famous Appalachian Trail also passes through these mountains.

Dollywood theme park features award-winning thrill rides, multiple live shows daily and traditional Appalachian arts, crafts and music. While there, watch craftsmen demonstrate their skill in everything from glass blowing and blacksmithing to wagon making. Southern cooking is another hallmark of Dollywood – from fried chicken to turnip greens, you can find it all at Dollywood’s restaurants. Be sure to visit the Chasing Rainbows Museum – one of the few portions of the park that is actually dedicated to Dolly herself. The museum features her personal mementos, including hand-written lyrics to many of her songs, her famous costumes and wigs and several of her industry awards.

Nightlife and entertainment

Nights come to life with exciting shows to choose from in the Smoky Mountains. From high energy variety shows complete with singers, acrobats and magicians to over-the-top country comedy productions, the wide selection of shows available means entertainment for everyone. There are also opportunities to catch live music at local restaurants and clubs throughout the area.

Shop until you drop

Shop your way through more than 100 high end name brand outlets like Coach, Michael Kors and Lenox at Tanger Outlet Center Sevierville. Add to that a huge selection of specialty boutiques, flea markets and antique malls and you realize – Sevierville is one awesome city for shopping! Explore the 88,000 square foot Smoky Mountain Knifeworks, featuring cutlery, kitchen gadgets and relics – you can even buy ancient fossils there. Then shop your way through more unusual outlets – everything from Russell Stover’s chocolate outlets to Beef Jerky outlets are found in Sevierville.
