Celebrate 40 years with Robert Stein Wines

Mudgee’s Robert Stein Winery & Vineyard is hosting a range of events during the 2016 Mudgee Wine & Food Festival as part of its 40th anniversary. The region comes alive for the annual event from 9 September to 3 October with dinners, tastings, live music and lunches held within the region’s streets and cellar doors.

Robert Stein Pre-Release Dinner: 

Third-generation winemaker, Jacob Stein, will host a tasting of the winery’s latest vintages, including the award-winning 2016 Robert Stein Rieslings.

These special wines will be matched with a four-course dinner prepared by chef Andy Crestani at his Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant.

Date: Friday 30 September, 6.30pm
Venue: Pipeclay Pumphouse, Mudgee
Bookings: Essential, $150 per person

Semillon Vertical Tasting:

Jacob will hosts guests with a structured tasting showcasing the Semillon variety. He will explain how the wine ages, how vintage conditions impact on the style and the various winemaking techniques that he uses.

The tasting will be accompanied by tasty morsels prepared by the team at Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant.

Bookings: Seats are very limited; bookings are essential, $50 per person

Shiraz Vertical Tasting: 

Shiraz holds a special place in Australia’s winemaking history. Many regions produce Shiraz and Jacob will explore the nuances of Mudgee’s Shiraz.

Taste a vertical range of Robert Stein Shiraz showing the vintage variations, ageing potential and results of various winemaking practices on the finished wine. As with the Semillon tastings, the wines will be matched with a selection of morsels from Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant.
