Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa has unveiled its three redesigned Beach Villas – Hibiscus, Flamboyant and Bougainvillier – following the hotel’s much anticipated reopening last year. These legendary properties have previously played host to celebrities and royalty, and are considered the most exclusive beach addresses in Mauritius.

Incomparable privacy and personalised service are key to the distinction of the Beach Villas, blending refined luxury and outstanding access to the crystalline waters of the Indian Ocean with the heartfelt hospitality of a private residence.

The extraordinary Beach Villa experience begins from the moment guests disembark their aircraft and are whisked through a private gate to the elite airport arrivals lounge. Invited to unwind amid exclusive lounge amenities, while their hosts complete fast-track airport protocols and baggage reclaim, Beach Villa guests will then be transferred via limousine from tarmac to residence, where their Villa Team and chilled champagne await.

Each villa comes replete with a skilled team of staff, available for their guests around the clock: a Villa Manager, overseeing guest wellbeing and villa operations; a Private Chef, preparing any meal to order in the onsite kitchen; and four multi-skilled butlers taking care of any detail or request. The Beach Villas are serviced independently from the wider hotel, as private residences with separate operations teams who work to deliver Shangri-La’s renowned ‘Hospitality from the Heart’ ethos in the most customised way possible. Be it a Dine by Design experience on the villa’s private beach, a Sense of Place massage overlooking the ocean, or commissioning a customised artwork by the resort Artist in Residence, guests’ imagination can be made a reality.

Spanning an impressive 423 square metres, each villa offers three spacious bedrooms, an infinity pool and the seclusion of private beach access. Offsetting Le Touessrok’s signature Mediterranean-style architecture, the muted and subtle tones of the villas’ interiors complement the ocean views. The architectural layout means the flow between outdoor and indoor living is seamless, with verandahs linking the interiors to their Indian Ocean backdrop.

Shangri-La pays homage to its long-standing involvement in local culture, through the use of the finest local craftsmanship. A number of bespoke locally produced pieces feature in the interiors including ceramic wall-hangings by Mauritian artist Sharon Thompson, black and white super-graphic photography by Studio Christian Bossu-Picat, locally refashioned Turkish carpets and exquisite Mauritian lava stone sculptures surrounding the private pools.

Guests of the Beach Villas also receive a number of benefits and privileges. Each day they can expect a refilled open bar, canapés for aperitif, colourful fruits to be refreshed, glass jars brimming with tasty nuts, cookies and dried fruits, special turndown amenities and complimentary laundry service. A number of gifts help make the stay even more comfortable and memorable, such as bathrobes personalised with embroidered initials, Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok signature polo shirt, pareo, beach bag and sandals, and a special farewell gift that can be tailor-made to suit guests’ passions. Bicycles, kayaks and club cart are available to help guests explore the stunning surroundings.
