This month, Sri panwa is introducing a specially curated eight-course dining experience to the resort’s internationally recognised restaurant Baba Soul Food, in collaboration with international Michelin-starred chef Stefano Baiocco.
Mr Vorasit ‘Wan’ Issara, Managing Director of Sri panwa, previously trained under Baiocco, completing his hotel training at Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli in Italy. The special menu designed by Baiocco will be available at the resort from Thursday 1 December through to Wednesday 7 December 2016.
Hailing from the Marche region in Italy, Baiocco enjoys the challenge of creating tantalising, imaginative dishes comprising up to 150 ingredients elegantly matched, to bring to life a fusion of unique flavour. A signature passion that he has refined working alongside numerous top-ranking international chefs, as well as in a number of prestigious international kitchens including Alain Ducasse, Monaco, Kikunoi, Tokyo and most recently, the Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli, Italy where he achieved two Michelin stars.
Drawing influences from modern Italian and Thai cuisines, Baiocco will develop his eight-course menu in Phuket, using only the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients. Comprising two starters, two servings of pasta, a seafood and meat dish as well as two desserts, the final carte du jour will be determined according to what is available at the time from the local markets and suppliers.
Sri panwa welcomes Baiocco as a special guest, having modelled the resort’s restaurant concept Baba, with six locations throughout the resort, on the talented chef’s unique culinary vision and techniques.
“Stefano’s creativity and the skill with which he prepares his food has inspired me since our first encounter in Italy. I am thrilled to have such a talented chef stay at the resort, offering guests a truly unique, five-star dining experience”, says Mr Wan.
Since its inception over 10 years ago, Sri panwa has become renowned as a gastronomical destination on the south-eastern tip of Phuket, offering guests a diverse range of global gourmet experiences within the resort’s six dining locations.
Baba Soul Food uses only the freshest ingredients and unique cooking techniques to create locally inspired Thai dishes, while Baba Poolclub boasts a more extensive menu selection offering a wide range of international cuisines, specialising in barbecued seafood and meat. Baba IKI is located on the second floor above Baba Poolclub and serves up modern Japanese cuisine. Baba Nest is the resort’s premium cocktail bar, serving a selection of Mexican tapas; surrounded by a unique 360-degree infinity pool, it is located on the highest pinnacle of the south-eastern peninsula.
The resort’s latest restaurant instalments are situated in the recently opened precinct The Habita. Baba Chino offers a modern take on traditional Chinese dishes with a touch of the Sri panwa inspired twist and Baba Hot Box, serves a mouth-watering combination of premium grilled meat and seafood using a traditional Spanish Josper barbecue.
