Sri Lanka’s leading coastal resort, Cape Weligama, has unveiled its new spa along with bespoke spa and fitness packages plus an exclusive partnership with neighbouring Barberyn Ayurveda Resort. These enhanced wellness offerings come as Cape Weligama, the second hotel from Resplendent Ceylon, celebrates its third anniversary.

Opening this month, The Spa Sanctuary comprises four treatment rooms, one double and three singles plus extensive fitness facilities including a fully equipped gym with TRX suspension equipment. In addition to signature treatments including Hot Lava Shell massage, Quench Hydration facials, Life and Rejuvenation Ceremonies and Bamboo body scrubs, Cape Weligama’s experienced wellness team offer Hatha Yoga sessions, wellness clinics under the guidance of a personal trainer and mellow Surf and SUP sessions and lessons. Working in partnership with Thémaé, whose products and therapies are inspired by the art of tea, the spa will celebrate Cape Weligama’s location and its Dilmah Tea heritage. A powerful antioxidant with anti-aging and calming properties, Thémaé’s signature four teas elixir of white, green, black and red tea is incorporated into treatments helping stimulate circulation and detoxification. Organic home-grown Sri Lankan spice scrubs made from clove, nutmeg, sweet orange and sandalwood compliment oils to relieve stress and attend fatigued muscles. In-room and alfresco treatments at secluded spots are also an option for guests.

For those looking to further their wellness journey, Cape Weligama’s extended wellness offering will include authentic Ayurvedic immersions and dedicated fitness, surf and yoga-based packages:

  • Cape Escape Fitness Camp: dedicated three-, five- and seven-day fitness programmes will be launching under the guidance of Cape Weligama’s resident personal trainer and enable guests to continue their fitness programmes at their own level once back home.
