Friday 28 July saw a changing of the guard at South Wharf as the former Hilton Melbourne reopened its doors as the Pan Pacific Melbourne.

The move marks a welcome return to the East Coast for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, and will be its second property in Australia joining Pan Pacific Perth. Previously operating as the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf, the property was acquired by Pan Pacific Hotel Group’s parent company, Singapore-listed UOL Group earlier this year.

Guests staying at Pan Pacific Melbourne will have access to the fantastic offerings and amenities for which the brand is synonymous worldwide, including complimentary Wi-Fi and a luxury Pillow Menu guaranteed to deliver a great night’s sleep.

Over the next couple of months, Pan Pacific Melbourne will also undergo a number of significant upgrades, including a new look and feel to the foyer, a new Pacific Club Lounge and aesthetic changes throughout the property.

Pan Pacific Hotels group area manager, Kurt Wehinger, is delighted that UOL has been able to acquire the property. “The Pan Pacific Hotel Group is absolutely ready to show the Melbourne market what we do best, and our central South Wharf location is perfectly positioned to provide our guests with access to everything the city has to offer.”

Located on the banks of the Yarra, Pan Pacific Melbourne offers direct access to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and DFO South Wharf, one of the city’s best retail offerings. With 396 contemporary rooms offering panoramic views of the city and Port Phillip Bay, not to mention 400 square metres of flexible meeting and events space, two restaurants and extensive leisure facilities including a 24-hour fitness centre, the hotel is sure to appeal to both business and leisure travellers alike.
