The Murray, Hong Kong, A Niccolo Hotel, will open in mid-December 2017, on Cotton Tree Drive in Central.
As well as being the first significant new luxury hotel to open in Hong Kong for several years, The Murray will breathe new life into one of Hong Kong’s most iconic and historic buildings. The tall white landmark structure, with its distinctive arches and unique recessed windows, was built in 1969 and has since won many awards for its groundbreaking and energy-efficient design. The building is now being reimagined by Foster+Partners to feature 336 luxurious rooms and suites spanning 25 floors, a rooftop bar with incredible views of the city and Hong Kong Park, remarkable restaurants, as well as creative meeting and social spaces.
The hotel has an agreement with Fook Lam Moon Restaurant Group to open Guo Fu Lou, a prominent Cantonese restaurant at the hotel. Scheduled to open together with the hotel in late 2017, Guo Fu Lou at The Murray, Hong Kong is expected to attract its devoted patrons, including Hong Kong’s most prominent and influential movers, shakers and epicureans.
Facing Champion Tower (formerly Citibank Tower), the restaurant is situated within a two-storey pavilion adjacent to Cotton Tree Drive and across from the hotel’s main entrance.The 90-seat restaurant will boast a contemporary chic and authentically inspired design. Guests who prefer more privacy may choose to book one of the private dining rooms which can accommodate between 6 to 40 guests. A sprawling terrace, with an additional 48 outdoor seats beneath the hotel’s courtyard heritage tree, provides the perfect vantage point to observe the hotel’s arrival and departure activities. The distinctive setting is ideal for outdoor dining, a unique feature among Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong and the region.
With its unique location in a stand-alone building positioned between the Central business district and the green oasis of Hong Kong Park, the hotel will offer a sophisticated, urban chic sanctuary in the heart of the city.

The first hotel under the new Niccolo Hotels brand, Niccolo Chengdu, opened in April 2015 and has been recognised as the city’s leading centre for luxury accommodation, fine dining and events. It is located as part of the International Finance Square (IFS) a mixed-use retail and commercial centre which has become the epicentre of Chengdu’s events.
The new Niccolo Hotels brand was conceived and designed to cater to the growing maturity and sophistication of the luxury hotel sector in China, and Chengdu was chosen as the setting for the brand’s first hotel since it has become the most successful economy of any city in mainland China. Niccolo Hotels was recently recognised as the “Best Luxury Hotel Brand of the Year” at the 2016 Asia Hotel Awards held in the mid of September, adding yet another illustrious accolade to the brand’s growing list of honours.
