Pandaw’s visiting Vice President of Sales and Marketing together with Caitlin O’Loan hosted an Italian-style lunch for guests at Otto Ristorante Cowper Street Wharf Sydney on Wednesday 11 October.

Marco Rosa was visiting from his home outside London to update a small media group on Pandaw’s latest news of expansion plus new destinations for 2018 and beyond.

Pandaw’s custom-built riverboats have been plying remote Asian waterways for the past 22 years, using a design based on shallow-draft traditional craft.

The company supports local schools and hospitals in its own sponsored programs. Marco Rosa tells guests over lunch that many guests are interested and give generously. They enjoy meeting the local people and interacting with children in the schools. On many trips there is no extra charge for solo travellers or “independent explorers”.

Several small dishes were served as the Primi Piatti. A noteworthy dish was the platter of Woodside goat’s curd with truffle honey and wafer bread (pane carasau).  Although there were several choices for the next course, most guests could not resist the saffron-infused pasta with Moreton Bay bugs, cherry tomatoes and lemon oil. A creamy tiramisu made a fitting finale.

Marco also says that Australians are the second largest group of travellers on their river cruises after those from the UK. Pandaw Cruises works closely with travel agents in Australia and elsewhere.
