Having relaunched following a three-year, top-to-toe refurbishment, Santa Marina Resorts & Villas, a Luxury Collection Resort is reopening to guests in May 2018. Offering a total escape from the hustle and bustle of Mykonos’ crowds, the privately-owned resort is set on its own peninsula and comprises 100 rooms and suites and 14 villas with views across the Aegean Sea, and now boasts a new spa and infinity pool.
Perfectly located to explore the island, guests can use Santa Marina Resort & Villas’ private speedboat to explore Delos Island – one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece – and its uninhabited neighbouring island of Renia.
Another must see is Paraportiani Church, a beautiful, whitewashed complex comprising five separate churches dating back to 1425, and the Monasteries of Panagia Tourliani and Palaiochoras.
Santa Marina Resort & Villas is home to the world’s first Buddha Beach Bar offering Mediterranean and Greek fusion cuisine as well as Buddha Bar specialties and cocktails. During the season, there is a mix of famous chefs, mixologists and DJs, not just for hotel residents to enjoy, but also guests from visiting yachts.
A firm island favourite and just a 15-minute drive from Santa Marina Resort & Villas is Little Venice, perched at the southwest end of the harbour and home to rows of 18th-century fishing houses that look out to the sea.
The new Ginkgo Spa
Guests can relax at the Ginkgo Spa, home to five large treatment rooms, with therapists are on hand to deliver treatments with ESPA and Phytomer products. The new hammam is a highlight with its mosaic-tiled décor and exfoliation and ancient cleansing rituals that utilise heat for therapeutic purposes. The relaxation area, encircled by shallow waters, long flowing curtains and plush beds, provides a quiet pre- and post-treatment sanctuary.
Located within the spa is the new gym, which overlooks the infinity pool and comprises state of the art TechnoGym equipment.
The resort is also home to a new infinity pool and OASIS lounge for adults only with views of the bay.
