18 Helloworld and affiliated agents were recently rewarded for their ongoing support this year at two “Appreciation Yum Cha” events, hosted by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Cathay Pacific Airways.
While indulging in a Chinese banquet at Sky Phoenix Chinese Restaurant and Star Capital Seafood Restaurant, agents from across NSW were updated on the vast new developments and events planned for Hong Kong in 2018 and their latest marketing campaign, Hong Kong Great Outdoors, which was launched earlier this month.
HKTB manager, trade marketing and business tourism Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Lisa Lee, said travel agents continue to play a vital role in the HKTB’s overall destination marketing strategy.
“Travel trade agents are our frontline when it comes to promoting Hong Kong, so we want to make sure they feel rewarded and valued for their efforts and these events are a great way to do just that whilst also sharing a taste of the Hong Kong dining experience,” Ms Lee said.
“It is also a fantastic opportunity to educate agents on destination updates so they have the right tools to best represent and sell Hong Kong to their customers.”
Cathay Pacific Airways business development manager NSW, Tom Kennedy, said, “Cathay Pacific as an organisation is evolving in a competitive environment, but our focus on the customer is unwavering, and I include our valued trade partners in that definition.”
Agents are encouraged to sign up to Hong Kong Specialist Club, an online training program, to keep up-to-date on all things Hong Kong and also for the chance to attend future “Appreciation Yum Cha” events.
