Viking Cruises has announced 10 new sailings for its 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids Egypt river cruise for 2019. These new sailings will be on board the Viking-operated MS Antares, a ship specifically built to navigate the Nile. Guests will spend three nights at The Ritz-Carlton exploring Cairo before boarding the ship to cruise the Nile with an expert Egyptologist.
The announcement follows Viking having sold out all existing dates for 2018 and 2019.
“We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Egypt,” said Michelle Black, Viking Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. “We’re excited to provide even more guests with the opportunity to discover such a magical place.”
The Viking cruise highlights will include camel tours to see the pyramids, exploring the preserved temple of Dendera and exploring the Nile by traditional felucca. An optional early-morning hot air balloon ride over Luxor’s temples and monuments is also a standout of the tour.
Viking-operated MS Antares houses just 62 guests across a number of stateroom choices. All staterooms feature a French balcony, flat-panel TV and private bathrooms with bathtub and jet shower. Also offered are a sun deck with swimming pool, restaurant, library and spa with massage services.
The sailings are now priced from $7,395 per person. Must be booked before 31 July 2018 unless sold out prior.
