Finnair has revealed changes to the Finnair Plus frequent flyer program to its more than 4 million members internationally, designed to make the scheme the most competitive reward program in the region.
Finnair Corporate Sales Manager and Acting General Manager Australia, Sanna Ruuskanen, confirmed that from 4 June 2018 Finnair will be lowering its flight award prices, making the most wanted rewards more accessible for all members.
The award prices are the same for all members, including Junior members.
Ruuskanen said Finnair would also be revamping the Finnair Plus Junior membership, with new ways to reward the youngest frequent travellers. From June onwards, all members will be recognised as tier members regardless of their age and entitled to the same tier benefits.
“This renewal makes the Finnair Plus program even more interesting and internationally compared a very competitive airline frequent flyer program,” said Finnair Head of Marketing, Brand and Loyalty, Johanna Jäkälä.
The renewal is based on Finnair customer wishes with flight reward prices to be more easily reachable. Finnair Plus offers its members a vast selection of benefits, services, interesting events and partnerships from which customers can choose the most suitable way to use points for example.
Finnair will soon be introducing a Family and Friends program, making it easier for families and friends to pool points together and track their progress towards their targeted award.
Earlier this year Finnair made changes to its point expiry policy leading to points now not expiring provided the customer keeps on earning or using points at least once every 18 months. This is a change from previous policy whereby points expired 36 months after they were earned, regardless of member activity. The new policy allows members to save points and unlock more rewards.
Finnair has also introduced a new tier, Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo, designed for the most frequently travelling customers. Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo benefits focus on the highest level of service and flexibility when travelling and exclusive early access to new services. To earn Platinum Lumo members need to earn 450,000 tier points or fly 150 times in their membership year.
Finnair offers excellent connections from Australia with oneworld partners to 19 destinations in Asia and seven in the Americas plus more than 100 Europe destinations.
