APT has announced the introduction of a new evolution in the brands offering of travel services, Tailor Made Journeys – a custom travel planning service, giving guests the opportunity to create their own private luxury holiday with personal touches and experiences.
The business is not associated to the fellow ATAS accredited Tailor-Made Journeys, which trades as South America Travel Centre, Antarctica Travel Centre & Arctic Travel Centre and owns the domain tailormadejourneys.com.au.
Launching on Friday 28 June, 2018, the new option will initially be available across APT’s Africa and South America programs, incorporating APT’s accommodation and exclusive experiences. Guests who choose a Tailor Made Journey can design each element of their itinerary including the departure dates, locations, duration, modes of travel, hotels and sightseeing options.
APT’s journey planners will work with agents to create a comprehensive travel proposal and the draft will be customised to create an itinerary on which individual interests, needs and preferences will be completely catered for.
Steve Reynolds, APT’s CEO, explained how the new option was designed with agents in mind, “Tailor Made Journeys ensure there is a consistent level of luxury service, accommodation and experiences, in a personalised itinerary. Agents will work with the APT specialised team to piece together a bespoke tour, making the historically tedious process of booking a completely personalised tour, seamless for both agents and their clients while retaining all the benefits and quality of a scheduled APT trip.”
No detail will be spared. In every destination, English-speaking local guides will lead guests through their home towns and cities, providing insights only a resident could offer. Guests are also free to curate their own touring program by selecting experiences in each location, from wine tastings to cultural encounters in traditional villages and history lessons amid ancient ruins. The new service will deliver a truly personalised experience with the reassurance and experience of APT’s 90-plus years in group touring.
For example, on a journey to Africa, trips to Morocco and Egypt can be added, guests might choose to begin their journey aboard Rovos Rail before an extended stay in Cape Town and 4WD safaris through the heart of Kruger and Chobe national parks before flying north to finish with a cruise along Egypt’s Nile River. While in South America, a private itinerary can align with a luxury Amazon or Galapagos cruise departure date to make the most of the time in each destination.
Over the years APT have collated the best-of-the-best across the globe. The specially selected details such as hotels and experiences have been chosen for their impressive nature and insight into destinations and cultures, ensuring every APT trip is truly unforgettable.
In addition, all Tailor Made Journey bookings count towards the ATG VIP partner program, benefit from APT Club rewards and earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points. Qantas Frequent Flyer members will earn one Qantas Point per AU$1 spent on Tailor Made Journeys.
A spokesperson for APT confirmed to LATTE that the branding is entirely separate to the travel company, which is also based in Melbourne, operating as Tailor-Made Journeys. There has not been an acquisition, it is “just a similar name,” the spokesperson said.
